Cadet Leadership Preparatory Program (CLPP)
There is a Place for You Here.
The Cadet Leadership Preparatory Program welcomes students who do not initially qualify for admission into the Corps of Cadets.
The program supports students with enhanced training and mentoring, inspiring cadet candidates success on the Gainesville campus, to successfully join the Corps in Dahlonega upon completion of their first year of college.

How CLPP Works
This program is for students who do not initially meet our bachelor’s degree requirements.
It is not a program you can directly apply to. Submitting an appeal form does not guarantee admission into the CLPP program. For more information, contact Cadet Recruiting at cadetrecruiting@ung.edu.
Applicants to CLPP must meet the following admissions criteria:
- 2.0+ Required High School Curriculum GPA and on track to complete all required high school curriculum requirements.
- Complete your Admissions Appeal Form with a well-written answer (in essay format) to the question that is provided in the form. This form will be sent to you via email – it is not something that you request.
- Interview with members of the Cadet Leadership Academy to discuss your desire to pursue the Corps of Cadets and service beyond graduation.
The Program uses the "Scholar, Athlete, Leader" model to set its goals. This model matches the current admissions standards for new Corps of Cadets students and those transferring internally. It makes sure students meet these important areas.
Successfully completing these requirements will enable you to transfer from the 天美社区 Gainesville campus into the Corps of Cadets on the 天美社区 Dahlonega campus. Failure to complete these requirements will lengthen your time within the Cadet Leadership Preparatory Program. Learn more by downloading the 2026-2027 CLPP Guidebook (PDF).
Additionally, each Cadet Candidate will be required to sign a participation policy letter with the Cadet Leadership Academy to abide by the required uniform, attendance, physical fitness, and overall professionalism standards of the Cadet Leadership Academy, as future Cadets in our Corps.
