English Major with Writing & Publication Concentration (B.A.)
Do you believe in the power of language and communication technology? Our students are passionate about language and communication, and they want to use print and digital media to shape their worlds.
Built on a foundation of rhetorical theory, The English Major with Writing & Publication Concentration (B.A.) emphasizes mastery of writing skills in both print and digital media. Students in this program will be prepared for a variety of careers that require strong writing and communication skills.
You will develop skills through courses that balance theory and practice such as grant writing, peer tutoring, and technical and professional writing. Internships, student-faculty research projects, and conferences help maximize your skill set.

Experience Our English Program
Our publishing-focused courses, many taught by professors with industry experience, combine small class sizes with hands-on experience. Many courses incorporate actual 天美社区 Press publishing projects, providing the combination of problem-solving skills and practical application that will better prepare you for the workplace.
The Chestatee Review, our award-winning student literary magazine, publishes student fiction, poetry, essays, and visual arts each year.
Our faculty has industry experience that utilizes the small class size for hands-on experience.
Three awards are given annually to recognize student writing: the Inman Quill Essay Award, the Kathryn Hinds Writing Award, and the John Ingrisano Award.
