Resident Assistant (RA) Position Information
Resident Assistants (RAs) are student leaders who help make life on campus at 天美社区 welcoming, safe, and engaging. As an RA, you’ll be the go-to person for your residents by offering guidance, building community, and making a real impact in the lives of your peers.
RAs are trained in everything from crisis response and community programming to time management and peer support. Along the way, you’ll gain hands-on experience in leadership, professional development, communication, and problem-solving—skills that employers value and that will serve you well long after graduation.
As an RA, you’ll:
- Receive free on-campus housing, a 10-meal-per-week plan, a small stipend, and flexible scheduling.
- Build community by organizing events and helping residents connect.
- Support student success by sharing campus resources and encouraging academic focus.
- Promote safety and accountability by enforcing policies and responding to emergencies.
- Model respect and encourage personal growth among peers, making a meaningful difference in the student experience.

Eligibility and Expectations
- Full-time students in good academic and disciplinary standing
- Individuals who demonstrate leadership potential and a desire to serve others
- Committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment
- Willing to be available to students in your building.
- Attend training sessions and staff meetings.
- Participate in duty rotations and respond to incidents as needed.
- Plan and implement educational and social programs for your community

The 2026-2027 Resident Assistant Application is now active.
Note: All application materials are due by: January 21 at 11:59 p.m.
- Each RA applicant must attend one RA applicant interest session. Sessions are around 45 minutes and are offered at the following days/times/locations:
- Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. – Hoag ABC
- Dec. 1 at 5 p.m. – Owen Hall, Downstairs lobby
- Dec. 1 at 8 p.m. – Lewis Hall Seminar Room
- Dec. 2 at 6:30 p.m. – Commons 1 Lobby
- Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. – North Georgia Suites Classroom
- Dec. 3 at 3 p.m. – Donovan Hall, Back Lobby
- Jan. 14 at noon – Hoag ABC
- Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. – Commons 1 Lobby

Next Steps for Selected Applicants
Phase I Interviews
Candidates who pass the initial screening will be invited to interview in the Phase I Group Interviews on January 23, 2026.
These interviews will be held in-person. Phase I interview information will be emailed to eligible candidates.
Phase II Interviews
Selected RA applicants who participate in the Phase I Interview will be invited to an individual interview on January 30, 2026.
Individual interview times for Phase II will be emailed to eligible applicants following the Phase I interviews.
Selection Timeframe
RA selections will be announced via email no later than Friday, February 27, 2026.
Mandatory Training
RAs are required to attend mandatory training before the semester begins and throughout the year. This includes sessions on crisis response, community building, and more. This training will occur during the two weeks before the fall semester begins.
