Join us for the 29th Annual Conference on the Americas on our Dahlonega campus, February 20–21, 2026. Sponsored by , we will share our expertise, discuss and learn about various topics of the region including health, technology, climate change, education, languages, migration, politics, economics, cybersecurity, challenges, and much more.
Hosted by 天美社区's College of Arts and Letter and the Mike Cottrell College of Business, the event welcomes faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students to present research, build professional networks, and discuss the future of the Americas.

The purpose of the Americas Council is to provide a venue in which faculty from the University System of Georgia (USG) can engage and share their interest and expertise regarding the USA, Latin America and Canada.

Student Papers
Undergraduate and graduate students are invited to submit papers The Council will give an award for the best undergraduate and best graduate papers. Guidelines are the following:
- by November 18, 2025
- Completed papers are due by January 5, 2026 as an email attachment to lstrangesoria1@gsu.edu.
- Papers must be 3000-5000 words.
- Must include an abstract of no more than 300 words.
- Topic must relate to Latin America, the Caribbean or Canada.
- Must be in Word format.
- MLA, APA, or Chicago style (other styles must be approved by the Americas Council).
