Overview
Michele B. Hill received her Master’s and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Georgia State University. She is a licensed psychologist in the state of Georgia. In addition to her teaching, research, and service, Michele is a certified trainer for Mental Health First Aid. Currently, she serves as the faculty co-advisor for Clinicians, Counselors, and Company (CC&Co). Michele has received numerous awards, including the Felton Jenkins Jr. Hall of Fame Faculty Award from the University System of Georgia. She is dedicated to helping undergraduate students develop their research skills, refine their ideas, and build their professional identities.Michele B. Research/Special Interests
Dr. Hill’s research is centered on the mental health and well-being of college students, with a particular focus on the interpersonal factors of belonging, perceived burdensomeness, and the impact of trauma on student mental health. She investigates the role of Personal Need for Structure in mental health practices and institutional policies to improve student outcomes. Additionally, Dr. Hill explores mindfulness-based adjunctive treatments and transformative pedagogy as strategies for enhancing student mental health. She is also committed to preparing undergraduate students for successful careers in the mental health field through innovative, evidence-based training and educational programs.
