Emerging Technology Teaching Academy

The Emerging Tech Teaching Academy (ETTA) prepares future educators with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in today’s rapidly evolving educational landscape. Designed for students pursuing a degree in Middle Grades Education, ETTA integrates artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies into teacher preparation, helping future educators meet the demands of tomorrow’s classrooms.

Participants learn to use educational technology tools effectively, responsibly, and ethically while developing essential human-centered skills such as collaboration, creativity, communication, and critical thinking. Through innovative coursework and hands-on learning experiences, students gain the confidence to apply AI and emerging technologies in meaningful ways that enhance teaching and learning.

ETTA is available to rising juniors entering the College of Education. Students may apply to the academy when applying to the College of Education and can select the ETTA track upon enrollment in the Middle Grades Education or Secondary Education Program.

All ETTA coursework is delivered fully online, providing flexibility for students across Georgia. Because classes are offered online, students can enroll and participate regardless of their location within the state while completing field experiences and school placements in partnership with local schools.
